This recipe had been a trend in Pinterest a while back and i had bookmarked it then. I knew that i definitely have to make this. My sister made it once and it had all the yum things in it. Ever since i had been thinking of introducing this gem of a recipe to you guys.
Its seriously the easiest thing to prepare. Take a loaf of bread, cut it up into a grid pattern, pour in melted garlic butter, chicken, olives…just anything you please into all of the crevices, and cover it with foil and bake. Take it out of the oven and stuff cheese on all the cracks and pop it back into the oven uncovered. Voila! Tasty, cheesy awesomeness ready within minutes.
I am soo absolutely looking forward to baking and consuming many many more loaves of this yummy cheesy bread.
Me and my husband loved this and this is just enough to feed a small army. Its a fun way to serve this bread as just anyone can pull off a piece of the bread.
If the week was busy for you and you didn’t have much time to cook and there are unexpected guests at home, this is a quick and easy recipe for something nice to serve to the guests. It will take only few minutes to prepare this and i assure you, that your guests will be delighted with this dish. So, if you are looking for an appetizer that will please every guest on your next party, follow these few simple steps.
Serves 3
1 unsliced loaf bread
1 stick salted butter
1/2 tsp garlic paste
Chicken masala
Olives
Jalapeños
Sweet chilly sauce
Nando’s peri peri sauce
White sauce (read notes)
Pizza sauce (read notes)
Mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a sheet of heavy-duty foil with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
2. Cut the bread lengthwise and widthwise, but DO NOT cut through the bottom crust. Make sure your knife is really sharp. Place cut loaf on the foil-lined baking sheet.
3. Gently separate the bread with your fingers, then spoon the sweet chilly sauce inside all the cuts. Melt the butter and mix in the garlic paste. Pour this into the cuts making sure it is evenly distributed among the whole loaf. Do not skimp on the butter.
4. Insert the chicken masala, then jalapeños, olives. Try stuffing it as deep as possible and between all the cuts. Pour a little peri peri sauce all over. This is optional.
5. Wrap the loaf up in the foil and place on a baking stone or directly on the oven rack and bake for 10 minutes.
6. Remove from the oven.
7. Open the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the bread. There will be a lot of cheese, so try to push down as much as you can in between all of the crevices in the bread. Leave the foil open and return it to the oven. Bake until the cheese is completely melted, bubbling and starting to brown on top, about 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving, then sprinkle with parsley (if desired) and dig in!
Notes:
✔️ You can fill the bread with whatever filling you desire. You can add just anything that you would like to add in a pizza. Pizza sauce can also be added.
✔️ Adding white sauce to the bottom layer of the bread would be a good idea, as you will get a nice and moist bread. The recipe for white sauce is here.
✔️ The chicken can be replaced with mushrooms, beef, tuna etc. You can fill the bread with whatever ingredients you have in your pantry.
✔️ Serve it immediately.
✔️ The recipe for chicken masala is here and here.

There is something so warm and comforting – hearty and scrumptious – and exotic about this recipe. I will have to see if I can purchase Nando’s peri peri sauce in New Mexico. The ingredients in this recipe are so creative – as well as the fun way of slicing and stuffing the bread. Have a great weekend, Sadia! Best, Shanna
Thanks a loot Shanna! Really really love ur comments. Makes me happy! 🙂
P.S. I like the comparison of the (Sable) baguette in the background to the Cheesy Pull Apart Bread. It comments on how elevated the recipe is from a normal slice of bread!
Oh woow! Never thot of it that way. Wat a way of seeing it. Thumbs up! 🙂
And P.P.S. FYI, your follow me on pinterest button does not work – this is where you are taken: http://www.pinterest.com/savoryandsweetf/ – at that point, you get an error message. I tried to follow you on the above link, but without the “f” at the end. 🙂
