Marhaba everyone! I know I am a little too late to wish you a happy new year. But hey its still February, soo “Happy new year my dear readers”!!! 😉
Its a brand new year and savory and sweet food is all dressed up for 2016. I’m not really one for New Year’s resolutions, but I definitely have set some serious goals for this year especially with my blog. This redesigning was one of it. More good things to come, God willing! And I hope you will continue to support me as you’ve been doing all these years. 🙂
Hope you would take time to look around and really hope you all like the new look. Redesigning a blog is not an easy job, but actually i have no idea how its done. I am so incredibly grateful to my sweet, hardworking, and unfailingly patient brother….my best friend, Farhan for all the work he did to give my blog this beautiful makeover 🙂 . Thanks, thanks, thanks a looooot! Also would like to thank Mr. Pasquale, who supported us selflessly with his immense technical knowledge to make this blog the way it is now.
Furthermore, I would like to request you all to report any difficulty in browsing through the blog and also please send in your valuable suggestions that would improve your browsing experience.
Some of the changes that i particularly love are:
1. A whole new fresh look and feel. The new design features a slider at the top on the homepage which shows some of the recent posts pics. Below that you will find my most recent posts.
2. A visual recipe index, the part i am most excited about. Now it will be easier for you to find out the recipes you want.
3. A recipe card for each post which you can easily print or save.
4. There is a space just for you on the menu bar. All your tested food photos will be posted there.
5. You can submit your food pics directly through the blog. Check out the ‘submit your photos’ under ‘A space for you’.
With all these changes I hope it will be easier for you to navigate. What hasn’t changed much is how much i love good food 😀 . I can’t wait to share more of it with you this year. That being said, if you want me to post any particular recipe here, i am all ears! 😉
Now since this is my first post of the year, can we talk about desserts today? Specifically this eggless molten chocolate mug cake which can be made in ONE MINUTE in a microwave? I know most of you have made healthy eating as one of your new year resolutions, but c’mon you will need your dessert once in a while right. A liiitle cheat…. 🙂 So every time you crave something sweet, you don’t have to make a big 8 inch cake and end up eating all of it by yourself and then feel guilty. Make this teeny cake in a cup or mug and satisfy your taste buds instantly. It is eggless and you will have gooey melted milk chocolate in the center, yummmers!
I love mug cakes! Yaay for instant mug cakes!! Check out my other mug cake recipes here, here and here. And check out this video I made for you all. Hope you like it. 🙂
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp all purpose flour
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp oil/butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla essence
- 4 tbsp buttermilk
- A bar of plain milk chocolate
Notes:
- The cooking time may vary in different ovens. Mine took 1 minute and 20 seconds, but I recommend that you check after 1 minute and if it done that’s it. Or else give 20-30 seconds more cooking time.
- I added 1 full bar of the chocolate into the batter because I love the melted chocolate in my cake a lot. But you just add in a small piece of chocolate too, as you like.
- If you don’t like too much chocolate flavor, reduce the amount of cocoa powder added to 1 1/2 tbsp.
Directions:
- Take your mug and add in all the dry ingredients. Whisk well.
- Add the oil, essence, and milk. Mix well.
- Place the chocolate pieces throughout the batter covering all sides.
- Push the chocolate in and cover top with batter.
- Microwave on high for 1 minute and 20 seconds.Serve and enjoyy.

Oh that’s sad! For how long did you microwave it?
More than a min n half
Hmmm. It has to melt by then. Hope you will try it again, make sure you push the chocolate inside the batter.
Hi I really want to try this recipe but can I reduce the amount of sugar to just 1 tbsp, or even just 2 tsp? I love molten lava cake but I don’t want to add so much sugar…please let me know and I’d love to give this a try! 🙂
Hey Ashley! Yes you can reduce the amount of sugar. But it may taste a little bitter.
The lava of galaxy didn’t come. Cake came out perfect but without chocolate Lava
Ooh. It has to come. Wonder why it didn’t.
