This sweet cream dessert is made with a luscious filling of cream and mozzarella cheese, rolled inside spring roll pastry, deep-fried to golden perfection, and served with a generous drizzle of sugar syrup and a sprinkle of nuts. It’s a simple yet indulgent treat that’s sure to impress!
During Ramadan, desserts become an essential part of our iftar spread, and there’s always something special about those with a hint of Arabic flavors. This sweet cream spring roll is one such dessert I made recently, and we all absolutely loved it. What makes it so delightful is that the rolls aren’t overly sweet on their own — the sweetness comes from the syrup poured over after frying, making each bite perfectly balanced. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to make with just a few ingredients, yet feels like such a special treat!
A Few Tips for the Perfect Spring Rolls:
• Fry on high flame — This prevents the cream from oozing out while frying.
• Seal well — Make sure to seal all the sides properly with the flour paste to avoid the cheese from leaking out.
• Fry immediately — It’s best to fry the rolls right after preparing them, as the pastry can become soggy from the cream filling if left for too long, which might cause it to break.
Whether you’re preparing these for a festive gathering or just want to treat yourself to something sweet and cheesy, these sweet cream spring rolls are a must-try. I hope you enjoy making and eating them as much as we did!
