Spicy Lamb Kofta

Kofta, Kebab, Kabob whatever you may call it, these are flavor packed, spicy, and beyond delicious. Serve them with yoghurt tahini sauce and pita bread or alongside rice.

Ingredients

  • 500 Grams minced mutton/lamb
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • 2 Tbsp ginger&garlic chopped
  • 5 green chillies
  • A handful coriander leaves chopped
  • ¼ Tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ Tsp cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 Tsp coriander powder
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tsp cornflour
  • ½ Cup oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli flakes and salt.
  • Mix it very well by pressing with your hand.
  • Add minced meat to it and mix very well by squeezing the meat with the spices and onion mixture.
  • Add egg and cornflour and mix well again.
  • Let it rest for about 2 hours.
  • Grease your hand and make small discs out of the meat mix.
  • Heat frying pan and pour ½ cup of oil into it. Fry the koftas 7 minutes on each side on medium low flame until the koftas get a nice golden brown color.
  • Serve with rice, bread or as sandwiches.
